Accessing Apps Using a Diawi Link

For mobile prototype apps that are not distributed via the App of Play Store, we use an online service called Diawi. It’s a great tool to distribute them directly to your device. However, there are limitations to the service. You can find these below.

  • Instructions for iOS:
    • Make sure you’ve sent us the UDID of the device you’re going to use the app on.
    • Open/copy the link on your smartphone. It’s important to do this in Safari. Chrome or other browsers won’t work.
    • Input the password. If the password doesn’t work, check whether 0 or O is used, and l or I.
    • Choose to install the app. If this is your first time, you’ll need to trust us as a developer.
  • Instructions for Android:
    • Open/copy the link on your smartphone. Use the standard browser of your phone; others may not work.
    • Input the password. If it doesn’t work, check whether 0 or O is used, and l or I.
    • Choose to install the app. If you accidentally downloaded it but didn’t open it, you’ll probably find it in the Documents or Files folders on your phone.
  • In general:
    • Diawi-links can be installed on up to 25 devices. After that, the link will expire. That number can be increased, but then we have to renew the link. Please let us know well in advance.
    • 7 days after the last install, the link will expire as well. Please let us know in advance if we have to renew the link.
