InvestiDate, a prototype which we built for the Yale play4REAL Lab, was featured on the Yale School of Medicine blog. The prototype helps Black adolescent women navigate the challenges of dating and raises awareness of the dangers of STIs. It was designed in collaboration with PreviewLabs, health behavior experts, and an advisory board of Black teen girls.
The blog post features an interview with Dr. Kimberly Hieftje of the Yale play4REAL Lab and Dr. Ijeoma Opara at the Yale School of Public Health. It mentions:
- The objective of the study, a pilot randomized controlled trial;
- How this project began with a role-playing card game and grew into an online collaborative multiplayer game;
- How the prototype works;
- The next steps of this project, namely partnering with schools to test the game and demonstrating its effectiveness.
